A little background first. Memetics takes an evolutionary view of the spread, propagation and the variation of ideas and concepts. It is assumed that ideas, like living creatures, can spread and evolve on the biosphere of human culture, which is called the Memesphere.

In 2004, after reading too much David Brin, I made a visual attempt of exploring the Memesphere. This was a dark and protean realm that constantly kept shifting, and the creatures I saw... suffice it say that they were perfectly adapted to their medium, all glowingteeth and metaphysical bones to tear apart rivaling arguments, latch onto gullible minds and lure their way into their respective niches with promises of safety and salvation. There were millions of them, ever changing and impossible to categorize. I did my best to sample their diversity.
