In 2003, after repetitive viewings of the cult classic Turkish Star Wars, I set out to reproduce the trashy Blue Robot character in the film with a costume made out of trash cans, discarded computer parts and blinking lights. Only later did it occur to me to use it in a movie.
The result was Fatal Error, a comedic spin-off of the archaic Golem myth. Burak, after getting dumped by his girlfriend, builds a trashy robot with a chatroom based AI to avenge his lost love. When the robot breaks free of his control, Burak embarks on a desperate struggle to rescue his ex-girlfriend.
I've been sending Fatal Error to festivals left and right for almost two years now. It has been screened numerous times, and once even took my name to the (local) news.
